Since breaking into the NFL in 2004 Arizona Cardinals superstar Larry Fitzgerald has committed himself not only to becoming the game’s best wide receiver but one of his sport's leading humanitarians. In 2004 Larry established the Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Fund, which was established in honor of his mom who passed away in 2003 as a result of breast cancer.
That same year Larry also created the Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund to support children and their families. The First Down Fund has given money for computer equipment, vision care, and other activities to support youth. Larry credits his parents with inspiring his charitable work, instilling in him the spirit of giving and giving back.
One of the NFL's most traveled athletes, Larry visited Ethiopia in March 2012 with friend and former teammate Anquan Boldin to learn more about the effects of a severe drought in Ethiopia. While there Larry and Anquan met with communities working hard to recover from the drought.
