Oxfam reaction to President Trump's call for Saudi Arabia to end blockade of Yemen

By

In reaction to President Trump's call for Saudi Arabia to end the blockade of Yemen, Scott Paul, Humanitarian Policy Lead at Oxfam America, said:

“President Trump’s public call for Saudi Arabia to end the blockade is long overdue but hugely important. The past month’s escalation has killed thousands and condemned thousands more to die in the near future. Millions will die in a historic famine and public health crisis if President Trump’s call is not heeded.

“We should not overlook the fact that US support has helped create Yemen’s horrific crisis. The US should also insist on an immediate ceasefire and an inclusive political settlement. If the parties refuse, the US should discontinue the supply of weapons and military assistance it is providing to the Saudi Arabia-led coalition.”

How will climate change affect agriculture?

Climate change is affecting agriculture, but we can reduce climate-warming emissions and help farmers adapt to ensure we have nutritious food in the future.
