Oxfam in Uganda is implementing a grant form the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) in the districts of Rakai and Buliisa The project focuses on building coalitions of active citizens and communities affected by extractive industries. The goal is to help them influence governments to change policies and practices on public financial management.
Oxfam conducted a baseline study to determine community perceptions of their influence in decision-making processes over fiscal governance and extractive industries, assess local and national government's practices in resource mobilization and management, and assess the efficacy of CSOs in their engagements with private companies, international financial institutions, and local and national government.
