This Oxfam report warns that the average number of food emergencies in Africa has nearly tripled since the mid 1980s. The report argues that food aid-led emergency interventions are often only a partial solution, and that increased long-term support of agriculture, infrastructure, and social safety nets in vulnerable countries is vital.
