Our donors fuel the pursuit of a more equal future every year. Thanks to people like you, every day Oxfam is providing lifesaving support to people in crisis and tackling the root causes of poverty—an approach that sets us apart from other global organizations.
From April 2024 to March 2025, Oxfam America received more than $73 million in contributions. Learn more below about how Oxfam America spends the money we receive every year from our generous donors.
How every $1 you donate is spent
More than 70 percent of our funding goes directly to support Oxfam's short- and long-term approach to making change in the world.
The money we spend—and what it can support—depends a great deal on where that $1 is spent. Context is everything, and Oxfam worked with almost 2,400 local partners around the world this past year. That means your $1 is often used to support context-specific interventions that provide immediate support and drive long-term change.
In South Sudan, for example, $27 supports a refugee family of six with essential non-food items, including buckets for water collection and storage, soap, as well as cups. That same amount can support the provision of a “dignity” kit for women, which includes reusable pads, underwear, and bathing soap.
For monthly giving, $15 can go to support the establishment of three handwashing taps in refugee camps. Around $25 can deliver 1,300 gallons of clean water to communities without potable water. Around $56 can help a family receive a fresh food voucher to buy local foods of their choosing.
Every year tax-exempt organizations like Oxfam America must file annual information tax forms with the Internal Revenue Service called 990s that outline how we spend your money any given year. Download our 2025 IRS 990 financial filing here.
How we raise money
Oxfam America relies almost entirely on funding from individual donors, foundations, and corporations. Our Resource Development and Institutional Giving and Engagement teams build relationships with donors of different motivations and inspirations, driving impact across the globe. We are always looking for meaningful ways to fight inequality together—purpose- and accountability-driven.
We are fortunate to have hundreds of thousands of supporters, many of whom give every month or year. Around 2/3's of our funding comes from individuals like you that want to end poverty and injustice.
How can you be sure where your donations are going?
