Building Gaza Anew US Policy Brief
Planning for Gaza’s reconstruction is already underway even while Palestinians continue to face mass displacement, Israel's continued blockade and air strikes, and a lack of access to safe water, sanitation, and nutritious food among other necessities. New analysis from the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS) and Paltrade draws on legal obligations, best practices, and lessons learned from past reconstruction efforts to develop a principled framework for rights-based and Palestinian-led recovery.
The report puts forward practical recommendations for a credible, accountable, and transparent reconstruction effort, avoiding the pitfalls of previous recoveries and preparing the ground for a timely transition to legitimate Palestinian institutions.
