Ofronama Biu

Dr. Ofronama Biu is the Chief Economist and Senior Research Director at The Maven Collaborative, an organization that centers, race, gender, and joy in the pursuit of economic justice. She has spent the past several years in senior research roles, using both quantitative and qualitative methods to explore racial and gender stratification in the economy, including occupational crowding and alternative work, particularly among Black women; race and gender disparities in workplace experiences; workforce development; and wealth equity. Her current research explores Black women’s experiences with “Dangerous and Treacherous work” in the current economic and political climate and what Black women’s visions are for ideal work.
