Join us for an educational experience during our regularly scheduled 4th Sunday Dinner Church as we explore what hunger and poverty are like. How we can advocate to make the playing field a little more fair.
Currently one in nine people go to bed hungry every night. Not because there isn’t enough food to go around, but because of deep power imbalances and lack of access to resources like fertile land and clean water. Fighting hunger means making sure that people can access the food they need while also addressing the root causes of hunger by bringing people together to challenge injustice.
Veritas UCC is a progressive, mainline Protestant church that is an open & affirming, just-peace congregation. We believe in living out our faith with compassion to all of our neighbors as the evidence of our faith. We believe in being an accepting faith community that welcomes all God's children without bias, judgment, condemnation, or the need to ensure everyone believes the same exact creed as we do. We believe everyone is equal of the same fair treatment and access to resources regardless of one's faith, ethnicity, gender, orientation, social status, employment status, marital status, and any other identifyiny status. As a result of these beliefs, Veritas is a social justice focused community committed to making our world a better place for ALL of our neighbors in ALL aspects of life. Join us for our first Oxfam Hunger Banquet to address poverty & hunger. Join us for worship sometime, we would love to have you worship with us.
