Raymond C. Offenheiser, president of Oxfam America, made the following statement following yesterday’s passing of Ambassador Richard Holbrooke:
“The Oxfam family around the world extends our sincere condolences to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke's family and all of his colleagues at the US State Department. Ambassador Holbrooke was a tireless champion of civilian-led development and effective humanitarian response, especially in response to the recent floods in Pakistan, and a gifted diplomat whose service on the front lines of war and peace has had an indelible impact on the lives of so many people. He will be greatly missed."
