Oxfam at the UN General Assembly from 24-28 September, 2018

By

The UN General Assembly is the main forum for world leaders to come together to discuss international political cooperation, threats to peace and economic development, and many other pressing social, humanitarian and cultural issues. All year, Oxfam works globally to address so many of these critical issues, while continuing to advocate for a more vital, people-centered, multilateral system that is responsive to the needs of the most vulnerable.

During the UNGA high-level week, Oxfam will be highlighting some of the most serious issues facing people today at many high-level discussions:  the humanitarian crises in Yemen, South Sudan, Syria; the Rohingya refugee crisis; the future of global compacts on migration and refugees; how the SDGs will be financed, and what the role private sector should play; how all people can have access to the medicine they need.  We will also be following and reacting to the General Debate speeches and other events.

Please see the list below for highlights of how Oxfam is engaging, and the related content we will have to share throughout the week. Please also follow @Oxfam on twitter for updates.
