Shelley Goode

Vice President of Resource Development

“Oxfam understands that poverty is not an absence of assets—it is an injustice. Working at Oxfam, I am raising my voice and using my talents to right the wrongs of poverty and injustice. This is my moment in time to work with others to do more.”

Prior to joining Oxfam in 2016, Shelley was the Senior Vice President of Development at Volunteers of America, one of the nation’s oldest and largest human services nonprofits. She has more than 20 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, and nonprofit leadership, and has served on multiple nonprofit boards. She currently serves on the boards of the College of William & Mary Foundation, the Morgan Stanley Global Impact Funding Trust, and the Arlington Community Foundation. Previously, Shelley held fundraising and external relations positions at Johns Hopkins University, Syracuse University, Spelman College, the Smithsonian Institution, and the National Children’s Museum. She was also part of the team that helped open Port Discovery, the Children’s Museum in Baltimore.

Shelley holds a B.A. in arts administration and political science from Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. She is a 2014 graduate of the Leadership Arlington Signature Program and a 2015 graduate of Leadership Greater Washington. Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube Google+
