Nine years of violent conflict involving armed groups and military operations have led to a devastating humanitarian crisis in northeast Nigeria.
Oxfam has helped about 468,000 people since October 2016 with emergency food support, clean water, and better sanitation services. Oxfam is also helping refugees from Nigeria and others affected by the conflict in neighboring Chad and Niger. Since the conflict began, more than 20,000 people have been killed and 4,000 women and girls have been abducted. There are approximately 10 million people in need of humanitarian assistance across these countries, with 1.6 million of them displaced in Nigeria.
We need to scale up those efforts, and we urgently need your support to help save lives.
