Oxfam America Sisters on the Planet® Ambassadors are a diverse group of women who are leaders in everything from business to politics to the arts. Among our nearly 300 members are current and former members of U.S. Congress, faith leaders, chefs, academics, CEOs, and many more.
Sisters share one thing in common: they are committed to using their influence to fight inequality and work to change laws and policies that perpetuate it—especially for women and girls.
Women and girls from every background should have power over every aspect of their lives, live free from violence, and influence institutions.
Sisters tirelessly work towards a future where every woman and girl experiences equality, receiving equal treatment, rights, and opportunities. Through unwavering advocacy, the network demands a world where power over their lives is accessible to all. The future is equal—this mission is to make it a reality.
Sisters harness their collective power and influence to advocate with and for women and girls, especially women and girls of color, to fight inequality—the root cause of poverty and injustice, now and for the long term.
Sisters right now are asking President Biden and Congress to bolster funding for child care, expand the Child Tax Credit, and guarantee paid family and medical leave for all workers.

Sisters fight for the rights of women and girls at the intersection of Oxfam's four focus areas: economic justice, climate action, humanitarian response, and gender equality.
We call on US policymakers to strengthen federal protections for caregivers and care workers, including raising the minimum wage, providing workplace safety requirements, and advocating for paid family and medical leave, paid sick days, and affordable childcare.
We champion climate solutions from communities of color, human rights defenders, and women’s rights groups that have intimate knowledge of our environment and of the devastating impacts of climate change.
Given that women often experience humanitarian crises in distinct ways, we elevate the voices of women’s rights groups to help design and implement preparedness, response, and recovery programs.
We advocate so that women in all their diversity can become change agents—defending their rights, controlling their time and resources, and shaping their own destinies free from violence.
