Teachers

The tsunami in Asia and the hurricane in Louisiana and Mississippi brought to light poverty that already existed. Emergencies can provide a vivid example for teachers wanting to educate their students about poverty, globalization, and social and economic injustice. Use these resources to communicate with young audiences in a simple, provocative, and fun way.

Cool Planet
Global citizenship is about understanding the need to tackle injustice and inequality and having the desire and ability to do so. Put together by Oxfam Great Britain, Cool Planet is a robust website designed to help teachers bring global issues into the classroom and cultivate global citizens.

Fast for a World Harvest
Oxfam America's Fast for a World Harvest campaign raises awareness and funds to fight world hunger. Each year thousands of people participate in Hunger Banquets and other Fast events-at Thanksgiving time and throughout the year-in support of the 842 million people worldwide suffering from hunger.
