Climate Change
Oxfam America is campaigning to reduce greenhouse gas pollution, and increase funding so that poor people can survive the effects of global warming. We are engaging with the public, government, private sector, and the international community. Each group has a part to play in responding to the crisis.
Online Actions
- The Senate is currently debating the bipartisan bill, "America's Climate Security Act of 2007," which is supposed to tackle the problem of global warming. Send an e-mail asking that they write funding for affected poor countries into the proposal.
- Join the Climate Change Action Team. As part of the Climate Change Action Team, you'll be given easy ways to educate your friends, Congress, and the media about the effects of climate change on poor people in the US and in developing countries.
- Take action now! Sign Oxfam's petition and tell the US presidential candidates to address the human impact of climate change.
