Renowned chef, TV personality, and best-selling author Giada De Laurentiis began supporting Oxfam in 2008. De Laurentiis has focused her efforts with Oxfam on bringing attention to the 925 million people around the world who are chronically hungry.
Renowned chef, TV personality, and best-selling author Giada De Laurentiis began supporting Oxfam more than two years ago. De Laurentiis focuses on raising awareness about chronic hunger around the world.
De Laurentiis traveled with Oxfam to Peru in 2009 to meet with small-scale farmers. During her trip to the Cusco region in advance of World Food Day, she gained a better understanding of the living and working conditions these farmers face. After she returned to the US, De Laurentiis wrote an article about her experiences with Oxfam and highlighted her most memorable experiences along with hand-selected photographs from the trip.
De Laurentiis has been an avid fundraiser for Oxfam and has showcased her work with Oxfam in two episodes of her Food Network hit, “Giada at Home.”
She has been featured in Redbook magazine and Food & Wine magazine as a supporter and ambassador for Oxfam.
