Fast for a World Harvest
In 1974, 250,000 people nationwide participated in the first Oxfam America Fast for a World Harvest; they fasted for the day or a meal, donating their food money to Oxfam. So began a national movement to alleviate global poverty and hunger. More than just a means of addressing hunger issues, the Fast, along with the Oxfam America Hunger Banquet® event, have come to symbolize the grassroots nature of working together for change.

Emergency action
Taking action in your community during humanitarian emergencies can make an enormous difference. Oxfam's Humanitarian Action Team has developed a number of tools and resources to help you organize events and educate others.

Oxfam America Clubs
Oxfam America Clubs and affiliate groups are independent student organizations that support Oxfam America's work through actions, campaigns, and events.
Music outreach
Oxfam works with musicians around the world, like Coldplay, WILCO, Bloc Party, Dave Matthews Band, and others who are committed to spreading the word about ending global poverty and injustice.
