The most useful grants are unrestricted and allow us to use the funding where it is needed most rather than it being directed to a specific program, campaign, or location.
Grants can also be restricted for specific programs, themes, or geographic areas.

In April 2009 Oxfam and UPS, the world's largest package delivery company, teamed up to respond to the devastating cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe. As part of its effort to slow the spread of the deadly waterborne disease, Oxfam purchased 450 biosand filters and UPS shipped them to Zimbabwe at no charge. The filters are part of Oxfam's pilot program to prevent future cholera outbreaks by providing 1,000 families with a reliable source of clean water in their homes. |
