Diné Citizens Against Ruining our Environment (Diné CARE) is an all-Navajo federation of grassroots community activists in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. Diné CARE seeks to empower local and traditional people to organize, speak out, and determine their own destinies, particularly regarding inappropriate or destructive energy development. They are currently fighting the proposed drilling of thousands of new oil and natural gas wells in an area where drilling has already caused extensive damage.
