An improved irrigation channel in Ethiopia now delivers a steady supply of water to a small village called Shasha Korke. The 68 families there can now switch from growing sugar cane as their cash crop, to growing more nutritious and economically lucrative vegetables and fruits. Many are now harvesting several times a year, earning more money, and improving their diet and the health of their children.
