The Start-up Committee for the Reconstitution of the SORA Nation is a representative organization created to work in a coordinated manner with original peoples' authorities in Choro, Challacollo, Poopó, Saucarí, Peñas, Lajma, and Dalence. Each has maintained ancestral customs and practices, with the most relevant being the muyus (visits to the ayllus and markas), the Jallu pacha leadership system, and the rain ritual.

The TIMI Subcentral defends and improves the quality of life of the indigenous people of the TIMI, as well as its land, resources, and cultural identity. They are currently trying to achieve secure access and ownership of TIMI lands, and the organization is suporting communities in the process of regularization, or "saneamiento," which precedes the titling of the TCO. The Subcentral is concerned with the development of sound plans for the sustainable management and administration of the future TCO, which will require a strong organization and a close relationship between leadership and community bases.

Guarango also supports Peruvian art, modern dance, and young filmmakers. They have won several prizes in international film festivals for a video they produced with Oxfam's support about a community affected by a mercury spill near a mine.
