CARITAS Diocesanan is the Mozambican Chapter of CARITAS International which implements the Program for Rural Development. The program maximizes the use of local resources in a sustainable manner by using biological agriculture systems and natural medicine. The program also works to improve the living conditions of rural communities and contribute reducie gender imbalances. In order to implement these gains, some of the activities include cattle distribution, community-based revolving funds, adult literacy, and vocational training for women.
