CWLCZ is a grassroots movement in Matabeleland working to address constraints on women and children due to conflict. CWLCZ was formed following parliamentary elections in June 2001, and currently boasts of a membership of more than 4,000. CWLCZ supports healing and restoration in areas experiencing crisis and advocates for peace and tolerance. The movement complements the work of other organizations by bringing to the process cultural aspects that are specifically gender -focused to make them more meaningful to women.
