AIDESEP is the national organization representing the indigenous peoples of the Peruvian Amazon. Made up of grass-roots community groups and their representative organizations, AIDESEP works to bring forth the demands of Peru’s Amazonian indigenous peoples to the government, and to achieve structural changes in the constitutional, legislative, and political context governing development in the region. AIDESEP is the Peruvian representative in COICA, the Coordinating Body of the Amazonian Basin's Indigenous Peoples.
