Disaster preparedness and risk-reduction efforts can reduce the impact of natural events like floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis on the communities where they take place. In this study, researchers took a close look at the Sri Lankan government’s disaster management structure and policies and made recommendations for improvement - some of which have already been adopted.
