30 November 2007
Oxfam Global Ambassador Annie Lennox has teamed up with 23 of the world’s most acclaimed female voices for the charity single Sing, to raise money and awareness for the HIV/AIDS organization, Treatment Action Campaign (TAC). Oxfam has partnered with TAC for a number of years, helping to fund the program and has an ongoing strategic alliance—supporting workshops and the production of media around issues related to HIV and AIDS.

Oxfam is working directly with people affected by HIV and AIDS
In southern Africa, Oxfam America is supporting the work of organizations working to make women less vulnerable to HIV and AIDS by changing the laws and customs that perpetuate discrimination, and hold women in subservient roles in society. In Mozambique, we funded a coalition that pushed for passage of a new Family Law in 2005, and are now educating women and civil servants across the country about the new law. Earlier this year women’s rights organizations funded by Oxfam in Zimbabwe wrote a new Domestic Violence Law that was signed into law in October.
