Winning the AIDS Fight: How Countries Can Take the Lead
Oxfam America hosted a breakfast panel on the role of country ownership in fighting HIV/AIDS on Tuesday, July 20, at the International AIDS Society Conference 2010 in Vienna, Austria.

The panel explored the impact that recent policy developments such as the US Global Health Initiative, the broadening of the Global Fund’s mandate, and the International Health Partnership have had on the debate of how to best achieve health outcomes, either through donor treatment targets or health system strengthening.
Panelists included: Robert Clay, Director, USAID Office of HIV/AIDS; Dr. Freddie Ssengooba, Public Health Expert, Makerere University, Uganda; and Dr. Mohga Kamal-Yanni, Sr. Health and HIV Policy Advisor, Oxfam Great Britain.
