In the midst of a period of heavy rains, a landslide has struck the town of Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, Mexico. Initial reports suggesting hundreds of deaths were exaggerated (there have been no confirmed deaths), but a search-and-rescue effort is underway for the 11 people still missing. The town has suffered heavy damage, and an Oxfam team has been deployed to determine if our resources are needed there.
For the past ten days, Oxfam has been responding to the flooding in the Mexican states of Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tabasco, and Chiapas.
