WACAM is a community NGO formed in 1998. Over the years, WACAM has developed community mobilization skills and has been able to strengthen the capacity of affected communities to effectively engage with mining companies. As a grassoots NGO, WACAM's vision is to help communities appreciate the need for organization as a necessary tool for socioeconomic development by being active participants in the processes of development. WACAM has established partnerships with international advocacy groups for global campaign on mining and community rights.
