Established in 1992, AFSTRAG is an independent, non-governmental, non-political, and action-oriented research and consultancy outfit that analyizes strategic and human security problems in Africa, taking into consideration the political, economic, military, industrial, and social conditions on the continent. AFSTRAG is working to provide an indepth study and analysis of continental and global strategic developments and their impact on and implications for problems of peace, security, and human development in Africa, and more importantly, to propose policy options for those problems.
