Oxfam has developed a Global Rescue Plan to aid coffee farmers immediately and to realize long-term solutions to the coffee market inequities. Oxfam recommends a major international conference on coffee in September 2003, to bring together leading economic, corporate, and government stakeholders - including the United Nations and International Coffee Organization, to develop recommendations that will stabilize the coffee market and the lives of farmers.
